Our Mission
We are 30 years old association working for the welfare of all Textile weavers based at Pandesara Surat, we have more than 800+ direct members
Our society has been instrumental in the formation of various textile policies. We were among the first co-operative society to implement the YARN BANK SCHEME introduced by the Textile ministry GOI.
Total 6 lakhs workers are employed in the weaving industry. We address the workers of the weaving industry as “KARIGAR” ,means artisans. The majority of the artisans of the industry.

About Us
Pandesara Weavers co-op society Ltd is a registered co-op society formed in 1991. Our registration number is 5326 and Year is 1991. It was formed for the welfare of the weaving industry and weavers. In Surat there are around 6.5 lakhs shuttle looms, weaving machines and around 1.2 Lakhs high speed weaving machines like waterjet weaving machines, Rapier weaving machines and Air jet weaving machines.
Our society has been instrumental in the formation of various textile policies. We were among the first co-operative society to implement the YARN BANK SCHEME introduced by the ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. The objective of the Yarn bank scheme is to protect the small marginal weavers from the price shocks of the yarn which has a history of volatility in the Indian Market. Our society on Yarn bank was one of the only operator of the scheme to became self sustained and returned the capital infused by the Govt. of India at the expiry of the scheme in 2020.
Total 6 lakhs workers are employed in the weaving industry of Surat. We address the workers of the weaving industry as “KARGAR” , means artisans. The majority of the artisans are from Odisha state. Textile Industry employees large number of Women, we believe that the total number of female employees in the Weaving industry of Surat is around 2 lacs.
During the Covid period our society has worked tirelessly for the survival of all the artisans. We had distributed more than 25000 food grains kit to artisans which would serve more than 100000 artisans. In recognition of our efforts we have received appreciation certificate from Surat district collector and Surat municipal commissioner.
We had also opened the free vaccination centre for artisans, with the help of Surat Municipal Corporation. This vaccination centre was operating for 2 years.
We had also coordinated with local administration for the smooth migration of the workers during Covid and also to bring back the workers from their native place.
Our society has promoted the Palsana textile park pvt Ltd under the SITP scheme of Government of India, this park will attract investment.

In near future our society has set up a target to issue E- shram card to more than 100 thousand artisans and also cover them under Workmen Compensation insurance scheme.
Our President Mr Ashish Gujarati is immediate Past President of Southern Gujarat Chamber of commerce and industry.
Has worked tirelessly for the benefit of trade and industry, as president of SGCCI, Surat for the year 2021-22 and was instrumental to organize SGCCI’s first ever international Exhibition by the name of GTTF-2022 in USA and India Textile Trade fair in Dubai. GTTF-2022 were held in Atlanta and Los Angeles in USA in the month of June, 2022. The opening Ceremony of GTTF-2022 was attended by not only the Indian Consul at Atlanta, but has been attended by the Mayor of New York and many more political leaders of USA. We were helped by the US Department of Commerce to facilitate our Expo in USA.
Apart, during the tenure as president SGCCI, through its effective representation on various policy initiatives, govt. of India and Govt. of Gujarat in Aggregate has made nearly 22 amendments in various existing policies and or draft an entirely new policy based on the research submitted by SGCCI during his presidency.
This year the exhibitors are manufacturers of textile goods and most of them are weavers who produces finished textile goods. This exhibition will support the women workers and the artisans of the industry.
